Fitness Foundations with Dianna Kelly
Fitness is not only important for you, but it’s important for your dog too. Canine conditioning and fitness help maintain the health, well-being, and longevity of our dogs. This Fitness Foundations class teaches conditioning exercises that focus on a dog’s flexibility, balance, stamina, coordination, and strength, which are all important aspects of their physical health. It also has the added side effects of building confidence, mental focus, and an even better relationship with your dog!
Some examples of things you and your dog will learn in this class include passive, static, and dynamic stretching, “paws up” exercises for balance and strength, hind end awareness activities to improve coordination, and instability training activities to improve balance. We will also talk about activities to help improve endurance and stamina. The class is structured to focus on activities, exercises, and games that keep things fun for you and your dog!
The activities learned in this class can be used to build a physical foundation for any dog, prevent injuries and joint problems, improve performance for sport dogs, or easily condition dogs who like life on the lazy side.
Must be a Peaceable Paws Puppy Kindergarten or Basic Good Manners graduate or received trainer approval to attend. The class is not appropriate for a dog who gets over-aroused around other dogs.
